Youth represents an increasingly significant portion of the Bhutanese population. In the rural areas populated mostly by elders where most of the young have either left for education or work, the small but present youth population mostly with some schooling presents a wonderful opportunity to engage and strengthen local governance. Their ability to comprehend their bigger role as citizens and potential to partake in the decision-making processes can not be missed. Recognizing this, the Center for Local Governance and Research facilitated a workshop for a group of youth from around Korphu gewog under Trongsa Dzongkhag. Some of the areas that were covered but not limited to included youth engagement in local governance,  proposal writing, community c威而鋼 ontract protocol and social auditing.
