With the signing of the project agreement with the Country Director of HELVETAS Bhutan this morning, the Center for Local Governance and Research will work with Jangbi Cooperative in Langthel, Trongsa on a training and tourism development project funded by the European Union. Several other projects with Civil Society Organizations, Community Based Organizations and informal groups were signed today mostly year long in duration.
This project targets to train over 100 members from across the 25 various cooperatives in the area on community based organization best practices covering planning, decision-making, monitoring, budgeting and proposal writing. It will also engage with the local government leaders and functionaries under Trongsa Dzongkhag in the areas of local government legal framework, planning, monitoring and decision-making processes. itors and tourism sector, camp site on a hike trail will be developed to be managed by the community sustainably.
